Outlook: The Lady Bears notched their first-ever win over New Bedford and advanced to the quarterfinals of the Division 1 South Sectional last season. Collins, who is one of the best players in the area, put together a 1.56 earned-run average, notched 141 strikeouts in 139 innings, and hit .367 with 18 runs batted in a year ago. The team is loaded with veterans who can hit the ball and play defense, and everyone is anxious to improve on last season's record and advance further in the playoffs.
